Elsevier ( ) is the biggest publsiher of science journals. You could try approaching them for free samples of print journals or even try to negotiate some sort of access to their online journal portal, ScienceDirect ( ) - at worst they can only say "no"... Similarly with the Royal Society of Chemistry ( ) and other publishers. I live in a big city but even the main public library here has a poor and woefully out-dated selection of periodicals. You could perhaps contact a university chemistry department - many have dedicated 'outreach' lecturers and educational programmes that work with schools and colleges. Q. Hi. I'm a graduate student in health research. Was wondering if anyone knew of any journals or has a list of social science journals that publish research briefs (aka brief reports, or brief articles). I'm planning to submit my manuscripts for publication, but they are rather short in length.
